Actually, Jonathan threw him into the pool, but he still seemed to enjoy himself. Not quite the open ocean, but still good wet dog times!

Our new home is a lot larger than any other of our previous apartments, so we have a lot of home decorating to do; Luckily, I love to shop and decorate. We used our housewarming gift from mom and dad Ping to buy a new TV and DVD player for our living room– Thanks Mom and Dad Ping!. We also bought two new comfortable couches, and hopefully, tomorrow, we’ll be going to home depot to buy a new grill. So much shopping to do!

Our new 47 inch Vizio LCD HDTV and LCD DVD player. The TV is really, really big, and the picture quality is amazing.

Our new couches on our new hardwood floors. The couches are already covered in Elton fuzz!
Every year we go to Aunty Helen’s for Christmas. There is always a ton of good food and catching up with the relatives. This year, Jalvin, Janell and Jarrin and Cindy and Todd provided entertainment by performing festive holiday jingles on the piano. Here’s some picture from the party.

Jonathan and Janell by the food spread. Mmm… So much food! I’m still recovering from it!

Every year, Jonathan, Elton, and I take pictures with Santa. This year, we took it at the Hawaii Humane Society with a Hawaiian Santa and Mrs. Clause. Elton and Jonathan wore their Hawaiian aloha shirt. Doesn’t Elton look super-dooper cute!
Hope everyone has a merry, jolly holiday.
We rented a u-haul today and moved the rest of our furniture in. We have a lot of stuff! Two beds, five book shelves, three tv stands, plus a smattering of tables, wall posters, and chairs! Here’s Jonathan and Grant unloading the u-haul.

Dad is finishing the last bit of painting and caulking, but we’re otherwise ready to unpack.

Jonathan and dad assembled our bed and I got to decorate our new room. Everything looks great! We’re still staying in Manoa, but will hopefully “officially” move into our new place tomorrow. We can’t wait to live in our new home!

Hey Crystal! I took pictures of your new room, to help you think of decorating ideas. Elton’s crates are hanging out in your room until we organize his bedroom; you can use it when you crate train Chandler! Oh! I also e-mailed the Hawaii Cavalier club and there should be tri-colored male pups in the spring! So exciting!

Your room door, as seen from the hallway. The door on the right is Elton’s bedroom/ Jenny’s crafts room/ guest bedroom, and the door on the left is the laundry room. On your left wall immediately after entering the room is a small window opening up to the entry way and front door of the house.

The closet. I put your stuff next to the closet. We finished the hardwoods in the bedroom closets today. They look so pretty, and now we don’t have to worry about vacuuming Cavalier fuzz out of the carpet. You can also see your bedroom door in the mirror’s reflection.

Two windows, facing the door. The light board on the floor is the foot board for the bed frame. We have an extra Ikea Malm bed frame in birch and a full sized bed that we’ll put into your room for you.
Hope you like your room! Let us know if you need anything to help your move. Elton’s looking forward to living with his Auntie Crystal!
We’re almost finished with the trim and started caulking the edges. Almost done with the rooms; We were planning on just leaving the old carpet in the closets but dad recommended that we put hardwoods in there as well. He made a good point that the carpets were old and dusty, and since we’re doing the floors now, we should just do everything at one time.
So, here we go again! Pulling out carpets and the carpet nails, scraping the sticky carpet glue off the cement, dropping the crow bar on my foot…

Jonathan using the liquid nail gun and tar paper to add the molding in our hallway. He’s becoming quite the handyman!

Crystal’s room! The floors were so pretty until I took out the carpet in the closet. I also had to put masking tape onto the wood to finish painting the molding. Not to worry, it should be cleaned up, with new closet floors by tomorrow!
The floor edges are hard to put in, so I had to shimmy into the closets and work from there. Here’s a picture of me in the closet. It was a tight spot to be in, and it definitely did a number on my quads, but at least we’re getting a workout, since we’ve been so bad with our regular exercising!

Almost done! Just the trim and we’re ready to move in!
This weekend was the Hawaii Kai Christmas boat parade. My family came over to our new home to celebrate the parade festivities. The kids spent the afternoon swimming in the pool, and after dinner, we all watched the parade together. Our home is on the parade route, so we had amazing front row seats from our back yard. No pictures from the parade– It was too dark and the boats were moving a little too fast for the camera– but the parade reminded me of the Disneyland electric light parade, but without Mickey and Minnie, and with big boats and lots of elves.

Dad decided to pick the coconuts off our tree in the backyard before a coconut bonked someone in the head. Mmm… coconuts.
