We went to Julie and Grant’s house last weekend for dinner, and our kids stole Thor’s hoof rope toy! Grant said that Thor doesn’t play with it much, but Rafa, Elton, and Charlotte LOVE it!

They’ve already chewed off one hoof, and are constantly fighting over the other hoof.

This weekend, I’m walking the Straub women’s 10K , stroller division. Since I don’t have human kids, I’m taking Rafa along for a ride around Kapiolani Park.

Thank you to Janell, Jarrin and Jalvin, who graciously donated their old stroller. I outfitted it with a Ross’s 49 cent curtain turned kangaroo pouch and leash, and voila, a very cheap doggie stroller!

Jonathan and I went to the Punahou Carnival last night. While I enjoyed eating all of the yummy food (my favorites are the chicken plate, gyro, and bean soup–mmmm), the best part of carnival was trash and treasures, aka white elephant, rummage sale. Jonathan stood in the malasadas line for 45 minutes, and I went shopping!

All you can pack into the large beige bag for $5! So, always a bargain shopper, I STUFFED my bag. At then end of the day, I ended up with:

3 jeans, 2 khakis, 1 sweat pants, 1 shorts, 2 skirts, 1 dress, 3 shirts and 3 sweaters! They are all very good brands- Gap, Old Navy, Nike- and they are all in great condition. No dressing rooms, but I know my size pretty well, and everything fit except one pair of jeans. I only got one bag of loot, but a lot of people were walking out with 5, 10, 15 bags, full of stuff! If I brought more money and had more time, I’m sure that I would have walked out with the almost new bread maker and a couple more bags of clothes.

All for 5 dollars. What a great haul.

We had our four month puppy vet visit yesterday, and Rafa weighs a whopping 7 pounds! (We took Elton in too for a weigh in– he’s on a diet– and unfortunately he gained a pound and weighs 27 pounds now)

Jonathan, Crystal and I made it back from a great ski/ conference trip this weekend. I went to Park City for the Society of Academic Emergency Medicine (SAEM) western regional meeting and Jonathan and Crystal decided to join me for a ski trip.

We had a great time. After conference each day, we hit the slopes! Here’s a picture of Neil and I at Canyons. Neil presented our research at the meeting and did a great job.

Here’s Jonathan coming down the mountain.

Bill and I on the lift up.

A couple of injuries. Bill and Crystal on the ground, trying to get back up.

Crystal got a subungual hematoma (blood under the nail); Luckily, Bill drained her big toe nail with a paper clip and relieved her pain.

After: Notice the blood on the paper towel. Gross!
