Our great friends Uma, David and Nisha visited us last week. Uma, Dave and I are med school classmates, and Dave is now a staff Dermatologist and Uma is soon to be chief Internal Medicine resident at Mayo. Nisha is their three year old, very adorable daughter. Since Uma, Dave and Nisha still live in Rochester, we don’t see each other much, so we were so, so happy that they made the trip down to Hawaii to visit us. It was a very busy, and very fun week, and we were all so sad to see them leave.

We had a ton of fun playing tourist. Uma loves whales, so we went on the Koolina Kat whale watching catamaran and saw a ton of whales. We also spent a lot of time at the beach, but not too much time in the sun, since Dave is a Dermatologist and very wary of sun exposure! We also took a trip up the North Shore and Turtle Beach (no turtles, but lots of whales!), visited Wet and Wild Hawaii and Dole Plantation, and Jonathan and Dave took in a game of tennis. Uma and Dave said that the really enjoyed the warm weather– According to Uma, there was a 90 degree temperature difference between Minnesota and Hawaii! I think everything was really fun, but Nisha said that her favorite part of the vacation was Rafa and Elton!
